UnityZM: Services, and the AI Inside Them

UNITYZM · SERVICES AND THE AI INSIDE THEM

Everything between the order
and the money landing.

Ten services on one rail. One cockpit that reconfigures itself for your line of business. Seventeen governed agents doing the reading, checking and chasing that nobody has time for.

This is what you can actually get, and what the AI actually does. Not what it might do one day.

10SERVICES ON ONE RAIL
30COCKPIT SCREENS
17GOVERNED AGENTS
62PRIMITIVE TYPES
0LINES OF CODE TO ONBOARD

That last figure is the one worth pausing on. Bringing on the next operator in a line of business we already serve is a configuration change and a data import. There is no branch, no build, no release.

01 · TEN SERVICES

Ten services, one rail, one ledger.

Each of these is sold separately by somebody. The difference here is that they are the same system, so the handoffs between them do not leak.

SERVICEWHAT IT DOESWHO USUALLY BUYS IT
Identity & verificationA person or business proves who they are once, at the tier they can evidence, and carries it between servicesEveryone. It is the floor
Payments & moneyWallets, transfers, requests, escrow. Money held and released on proofMerchants, citizens
Commerce & marketplaceCatalogue, stock, orders, pricing, returns, fulfilmentRetailers, wholesalers, cooperatives
Smart e-invoicingInvoices that are produced by the transaction rather than typed afterwardsAnyone who bills
Acceptance & settlementCollect on any rail, settle to one ledger, reconcile automaticallyMerchants, operators, banks
Tax complianceThe tax event is a product of the movement. Filed as it happens, not reconstructedEvery registered business
Regulatory complianceKYC tiers, sanctions screening, AML flags, audit trail that cannot be editedRegulated participants
Communication & alertsThe message that says the truck left, the money landed, the licence expires FridayOperators and their customers
Mobile & directoryOffline-capable access, and a directory that widens as more joinField staff, rural users
Developer & merchant toolsAPI keys, quotas, webhooks, a sandbox, a published specificationIntegrators building on the rail

Payment processors do payments. Courier apps do tracking. The point here is that they are the same participants, settling on the same network, in one transaction.

02 · WHO IT IS FOR

Five audiences, and what each one actually wants.

CITIZENS AND INDIVIDUALS

An identity that works everywhere, a wallet that holds real value, and the ability to buy from someone they have never met without either party going first.

MERCHANTS AND SMEs

Accept money on whatever rail the customer has. Invoice without retyping. Stop losing a week a month to reconciliation. Build a trading history that eventually becomes credit.

LARGE ENTERPRISES

Multi-channel collections, tax filed at source, treasury visibility, settlement forensics, and dispatch they can actually see.

BANKS AND MOBILE-MONEY OPERATORS

One standardised settlement surface instead of a bilateral integration with every counterparty, each with its own reconciliation.

GOVERNMENT AND REGULATORS

To be a participant on the rail rather than the recipient of a report about it. Real-time visibility instead of a quarterly reconstruction.

AND THE ONE WE WILL NOT CLAIM

We are not an ERP. No company-wide HR, no CRM, no group accounting. We say that in writing to prospects, because being clear about the boundary is what makes the rest believable.

03 · ONE SPINE

Every economic service has the same ten stages.

This is the claim that makes it a platform rather than a collection of products. A pallet of goods, a truck of copper, a seed certification, a clinic appointment and a council permit are the same shape.

Same stages. Same primitives underneath. Different configuration on top. That is why an unrelated industry does not require forking the product.

04 · THE COCKPIT

Thirty screens. You get the ones your work needs.

The operations cockpit is not a fixed product with modules you switch on. It reads a descriptor and decides which screens exist, what they are called, which metrics matter, and what it looks like.

THE BUSINESS ITSELF
businesscustomerssitesseasonscertification

A client is a descriptor, not a code change. There is not a single client's name anywhere in the codebase: not a table, a route, a module, or a CSS class.

Onboarding the next operator in a line of business we already serve is a configuration change and a data import. It is harder to build this way, every single time. It is also the difference between a platform and a consultancy that bills hours while calling itself a product.

05 · WHAT IT ALREADY RUNS

Five configurations, live.

CONFIGURATIONWHAT IT SERVESTHE SCREENS IT TURNS ON
LogisticsHaulage and freight: orders to a truck on the road to a payoutlogistics · routing · fleet planning · event tracking · telemetry · fuel · workshop
CertificationAn authority certifying lots, with inspectors and windowscertification · lots · stations · seasons · sites
Seed processingIntake through transformation to a certified, traceable lotreceiving · transformation · lots · rollover · inventory
SettlementsAcceptance, reconciliation and payout for money moversaccounting · reconciliation · invoicing · reports
GenericThe starting point when a business does not fit a named vertical yetdashboard · customers · business · approvals

Adding the sixth is a descriptor and, where genuinely new work is needed, a small number of new primitives. It is not a new product.

06 · THE AI LAYER

Seventeen specialists, each on a leash.

The AI here is not a chat box bolted to the side. It is a set of narrow specialists with defined jobs, each of which must pass a capability gate and a spending limit before it may act.

WHAT KEEPS THEM HONEST

THE IDENTITY VEIL

No real identifier ever reaches a model. Names, phone numbers and ID numbers are replaced by stable pseudonyms on the way out and restored on the way back. The model can follow the same actor across events without ever learning who they are.

AVOID THE CALL FIRST

Routine requests are answered on deterministic paths and never reach a model at all. The cheapest model call is the one not made, which is why marginal AI cost is near zero rather than merely small.

A WALLET, NOT A BUDGET

Every agent holds credits. When they are spent, it stops. Spend is metered token to credit to kwacha and attributed to the tenant that caused it, so nobody receives a surprise.

CAPABILITY GATES

An agent may only do the specific things its role permits, through time-boxed single-use grants. It cannot decide to do something else because it seemed sensible.

PROVIDER-AGNOSTIC

All traffic passes through an internal router with pluggable backends. Providers can be switched or blended without touching application code, so no single vendor holds the platform.

A HUMAN STILL DECIDES

Agents propose. Anything that moves money or changes a permission goes through maker-checker. The agent does the reading and the chasing; it does not get the final say.

07 · WHAT THE AI DOES

Concretely, on a Tuesday.

Abstract AI claims are cheap. Here is what these agents actually do, in the language of the person whose job gets easier.

THE JOB NOBODY HAS TIME FORWHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD
Matching a bank statement against what the system thinks happenedReconciliation runs continuously; only the exceptions reach a person, with the likely cause attached
Noticing that a driver's licence expires next FridayExpiry is watched across every document, and the alert arrives before it matters rather than after
Reading a delivery note photographed at a border postExtracted, matched to the consignment, and flagged if the figures disagree
Working out why a settlement failed at 2amTriage collects the evidence and writes the summary before anyone opens a laptop
Checking a counterparty against sanctions listsScreened at the moment of the transaction. Exact matches block, near matches go to review
Watching an exchange rate that quietly moves a marginTracked, with exposure surfaced before it becomes a loss
Explaining what happened to a specific shipment three weeks agoThe forensic trail already exists; the answer is assembled rather than reconstructed
Knowing which tax obligation applies to an unusual saleDetermined at the point of sale and filed with the transaction

None of this replaces the operator's judgement. It replaces the hours spent assembling the facts the operator needs before they can use it.

08 · RAILS WE MEET

We are additive to what you already use.

Nobody is asked to abandon mobile money, change bank, or stop taking cash. The ask is smaller and stranger: that the payment land against the order instead of in a spreadsheet.

MOBILE MONEY

HOW PEOPLE ACTUALLY REACH IT
WebMobileUSSDWhatsAppOffline node

Some of these are live, some are built behind a simulator awaiting a production credential, and we will tell you which is which for your specific case rather than letting a logo wall imply more than is true.

09 · WHAT CHANGES

Softening, in the specific.

The mission is to take the sharp edges off an economy that has too many of them. Here is what that means for the person on the other side of the screen.

THE HARD EDGEWHAT REPLACES IT
Trust is binary. Someone has to go firstEscrow. Funds held, visible to both sides, released on proof. Strangers can trade
Identity is all-or-nothingTiers you climb. Enter at the level you can evidence and rise as you trade. Nobody is turned away at the door
The system is online or it is deadOffline-first. Poor connectivity degrades the platform. It does not stop the business
Tax arrives as a shock at month-endThe invoice files itself as the goods move. No penalty, no reason to stay informal
No transaction history exists, so no credit does eitherHistory accrues by trading. The precondition for credit most businesses here cannot access
Nobody knows where the truck isThe customer can see it. The office stops fielding the call

Nobody should have to be told the platform arrived. They should notice that the truck can be tracked, and that the money landed.

10 · HOW YOU START

At the gap that hurts most.

There is no cutover date, no big-bang migration, and no requirement to stop running your business while you adopt this. You start at one seam and the spine fills in behind it as trust builds.

STEPWHAT HAPPENSROUGHLY
1 · The conversationWe walk one real order through your business and find where it leaksAn afternoon
2 · The descriptorYour operation becomes configuration: screens, roles, branding, metricsDays, not months
3 · Your dataExisting records imported. Spreadsheets are fine; that is what everyone hasDays
4 · One gap, closedUsually dispatch visibility or reconciliation. Something you feel in the first weekLive
5 · The spine fills inOrdering, escrow, invoicing, tax, settlement, as you want them and not beforeAt your pace

WHAT IT COSTS

Pricing is a take-rate on settled value, or a fixed annual platform fee that does not scale with headcount. Adding staff costs nothing extra: we do not sell seats, because charging a growing business for growing is exactly the kind of sharp edge this platform exists to remove.

The right number depends on your volume and which services you turn on, so it is a conversation rather than a table on a page.
